Two members of the media were killed in what appears to be a robbery incident in the south of Mexico City Thursday.
The Mexican police identified the victims as Ana Yarce, the founder of investigative magazine Contralinea and Rocio Gonzales, former broadcaster of Televisa, who were both strangled fatally by the nameless suspects.
It was learned the victims were both 48 years old.
Authorities said they are now conducting a deep investigation on the killing after they received reports that Gonzales had just withdrawn a large amount of money on the day she was killed.
Relevant data from the internet revealed that dozens of journalists had been slayed in Mexico City in drug-related violence in the past five years.
