Senior smoking Smoking has a lot to do with death’s nowadays specially to men. A cigarette has many substances that damage our body and put our health at risk. Some of these substances are tar, nicotine, carbon monoxide and some components of gas. Tar is a carcinogen and this substance are usually causes of cancer. Nicotine is an addictive substance and this increase cholesterol level in your body. Carbon monoxide is a substance also found in cigarette that reduces the oxygen in the body. There are some components of the gas and particulate phases in cigarettes. This is the cause of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder or COPD.

Smoking associated with alcohol can lead a person to acquire lots of diseases. Disease such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, COPD, lung disease, heart disease, peptic also and many more and is said to grow more as time goes.

Cardiovascular disease where the fats are deposited in the arteries and arteries narrow and is blocked. This narrowing causes blood clots.

Cancer can also be an effect of smoking. Many types of cancers specially lung cancer, bladder cancer, cancer of the esophagus, cancer of the kidneys, cancer of the pancreas and cervical cancer.

COPD or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder is a disease where airflow is block and make breathing difficult. Smoking is the most common cause of COPD and is said to be 94 percent of 20 smokers a day die due to COPD.

Lung disease is rare to acquire if a person does not smoke so its safe to say that those who smoke are the victim of this disease.

Heart disease will also be acquire if you are a smoker. Smoking kills through heart attacks. Smoking damages specially the arteries of the heart. Smoking are most common cause of this disease because it increase bad cholesterol, lower good cholesterol, increases insulin resistance, increase heart rate and the blood pressure, increase fibrinogen- a protein involved in the formation of clots, increase the stickness of platelets, and causes of spasms of the heart arteries.

Although all of us know that smoking is not good for our health, still many of men and women can’t stop or quit smoking. Chain smokers have difficulty quitting  their habit or addiction. Some of them withdraw because of some effects that comes along with it like depression, insomnia, irritability, frustration, anger, anxiety, difficulty concentrating and restlessness.

They say the health of the person depends on how much he or she cares for our own body and how much we love our self. It is good to advise every one specially those smokers to little by little quit smoking. It may take too long to totally give it up but if you try, you are one step closer to having a healthy life and a healthy body.
