National Football League star running back Chris Johnson is now ready to play and carry the Tennessee Titans and carry them to success in the next few years.
This developed after Chris Johnson has recently signed a new four-year $53.5 million contract extension with his team, $30 million of whom is guaranteed.
With his new deal, Johnson is now considered as one of the highest paid running backs in the league as he is set to earn $13.375 million per year in the new four years of the
contract, and $9.21 million per year over the life of the deal (including the two remaining years left on Johnson’s rookie contract).
It can be recalled that Johnson created buzz in the NFL when he decided to conduct a holdout or refuse to participate in the Titans activities unless he is given a new expensive contract.
Now that he can accomplished his mission, Johnson is one happy and proud man these days and he promised to bring his team to glory in the NFL.
Tennessee’s first-round pick in 2008, Johnson ran for 2,006 yards and gained 2,509 yards from scrimmage in 2009 and followed up that campaign with a
great 2010 — 1,364 rushing yards and 1,609 yards from scrimmage. He has never gained less than 1,228 rushing yards in a season, and he did that in his
rookie year.
Now that Johnson is happy the Titans management hope his lucrative new contract will pave way for a better performance from him and would result for success for the team in the next few years in the NFL.
That is a sure way to go.
